Storm damaged roof causing water build up in ceiling
When a storm tore roofing, it caused a leak to drip for days, building up moisture within the customer's ceiling. The customer had tried covering the gaping hole however that didn't help seal it so moisture built up in their ceiling and rafter area. SERVPRO arrived and assessed the problem testing for moisture around the affected area. SERVPRO explained to the customer that it would require removal of moist drywall because the moisture had been there well over a week and mold is already present. The affected area will need full dry out, drywall removal & barriers, then once fully dry, SERVPRO can replace drywall and texture / paint the area to make it fresh and right.
The customer realized the need and concerns for future mold if not handled correctly and proceeded with allowing SERVPRO to do the job correctly.
Once the customer saw inside the rafters and understood how mold grows quickly, and also realized that when SERVPRO is done, the materials will be all new, fully restored to the same texture and paint color, they were very relieved they contacted SERVPRO.
